The treatment of patients with ischemic stroke aims to maintain adequate
penumbra perfusion pressure and accomplish rapid reperfusion of the ischemic
territory, thus limiting the initial damage. Currently, mechanical removal of the
thrombus is performed hours after administration of thrombolytic drugs with
good clinical results. Hence, this leads to more endovascular procedures
conducted in centers equipped with angiography. Since the process needs to be
fast and efficient, protocolizing the anesthetic management is recommended.
