Faced with adultcentrism and power inequalities between children and researchers, in recent years there have been theoretical and methodological proposals for doing research with children, which could be grouped in the New Social Studies of Children. They correspond to critical approaches with respect to traditional studies oriented from an evolutionary trend or from developmental psychology, which attempt to propose an interdisciplinary approach that moves away from essentialist notions and the passive role assigned to childhood in the assimilation of adult culture. For this, it is necessary to consider the leading role of childhood in the production of knowledge, using categories of analysis and critical methodological approaches compared to the adult-centred way of doing research with children.

Revista de Psicología makes a special call for the submission of research papers that try to contribute to the methodological advance of the New Social Studies of Childhood. The works must be empirical studies in psychology and / or related disciplines, in different areas (educational, clinical, social, etc.), and that they try to be a novel contribution to the study of childhood from this new paradigm.

The papers must follow the general guidelines of sending established by Revista de Psicología, for its evaluation according to the established routine procedures (www.revistapsicologia.uchile.cl). We will receive papers in Spanish, English, and Portuguese.

Deadline: July 31st, 2021.

Submissions should be send to: revista.psicologia@facso.cl
