This paper discusses some aspects of the impact of the energy factor on the foreign policies of the countries of the region linked to the situation it faces in the international context. Also, by observing some cases, the factors of cooperation and conflict that arise in intra-regional and extra-regional relations are taken into account. These factors affect the viability of the strategy designed within the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE) to provide solutions to the region's problems in the energy field and to increase its bargaining power with external actors.
