Terrorism between war and peace: a view from anthropological philosophy and international law

Abstract

After dealing with the most important legal and academic definitions of terrorism, this his article reflects on the history of terrorism. A framework of philosophical anthropology then is applied in order to define the nature of terrorism. Finally, the results of this analysis are applied to international humanitarian law and international criminal law as responses to the phenomenon of terrorism.
