Abstract

This article describes the way in which the demands of the LGBTQ+ movement were represented in the Chilean constitution-making process (2021- 2022) and the role that representatives of multiple sexual diversities played in this. Based on interviews and an extensive documentary review, the investigation identified six central demands, which had a substantive representation in the constitutional discussion and proposal. The results suggest that the performance of LGBTQ+ constituent members, but also of feminist, left, and center-left representatives, was relevant, agreeing with the literature on the importance of «allies» for minority groups to push their agendas in political processes.
