The work brings up an analysis of the relevance of Chilean student demonstrations
throughout more than a decade for the social outbreak started last October 2019. On the
basis of material from previous research, three controversial junctures are analyzed
(Penguin Revolution in 2006, the student movement in 2011 and the feminist movement
in 2018) in order to measure their cultural reach. As a conclusion, cultural consequences
are identified in subjectivity, protest styles, rules to feel and moral economy of citizens,
all of them generating favorable political and cultural conditions for the critical junctures
in October
